Role: Writer/Performer
Mike has been writing and producing comedy since he was 16. Starting with a video documenting the summer of 2002 with his friends including Phil Dovey and Drew Matthews, Mike was rarely seen without a camera in the local vicinity. During his time in 6th Form, Mike worked on a variety of projects. ‘Sir Fozalot’ was his first attempt at a feature length film but remains uncompleted. Mike also worked with fellow classmates on an off-wall sitcom called ‘Gowly’s World’ which was filmed almost exclusively from Mike’s personal P.O.V. It was however his work on sketch show ‘Transmission Disturbance’ with Phil, Drew and Graeme Watson that took up most of his time. Many of the sketches and characters from it have survived and been updated for ‘Where Are The Bears?’ including Amadeus Frankfurt, Techno Pizza and Swing Wars.
Upon meeting Matt at the University of Sunderland, they began to collaborate on comedy scripts that would become ‘Where Are The Bears?’ as well as working together on various film and radio projects. Their dissertation piece was a short film called ‘Untruth’ which earned them a 2.1 for their respective degrees.
Currently Mike is placing all his attention on ‘Where Are The Bears?’ in the hope of getting the show off the ground.
